White Rock Lawn Bowling Club gets new playing green made from 1,167 recycled scrap tires
Recently, the White Rock Lawn Bowling Club received a grant from TSBC that provided them with rubber from 1,167 scrap tires to be used as the rubber elastic underlay for their new artificial carpet playing green.
“White Rock Lawn Bowling Club is one of the oldest sporting institutions in White Rock and Tire Stewardship BC is honoured to be able to support the organization and assist them with replacing their playing surface with an environmentally friendly solution,” said Rosemary Sutton, Executive Director, Tire Stewardship BC. “We knew that it was important to club members to use recycled scrap tires for this initiative as they take a great deal of pride in their facility. TSBC continues to look for opportunities to provide financial resources to organizations that use recycled tire products for projects that enhance the quality of life for communities across the province.”
