TSBC Community Grant Program: 2025 Highlights and When You Can Apply for 2026
Across BC, community spaces shape how we gather, play, move, and connect. They are where children make their first friendships, where families meet for fresh air and activity, and where neighbours build a sense of belonging. At Tire Stewardship BC, we believe these spaces should be safe, inclusive, and accessible to everyone.
That belief is at the heart of the TSBC Community Grant Program, which supports the creation and revitalization of publicly accessible spaces using recycled rubber made from BC scrap tires. This recycled rubber, processed at the Liberty Tire Recycling facility in Delta, becomes durable, long-lasting surfacing. These recycled surfaces benefit a variety of spaces, including playgrounds, water parks, fitness areas, walkways, and running tracks. Every project is fully public, wheelchair accessible, and grounded in inclusivity.
Spotlight on 2025 Completed Projects
In 2025, TSBC awarded grants to 11 community projects across the province, each selected for its potential to enhance accessibility, improve public spaces, and support healthier communities.
Together, these 11 projects will use 10,748 BC recycled tires–enough recycled rubber to fill an entire Olympic-size swimming pool! What was once a discarded tire is transformed into safe surfacing that supports play, fitness, and community wellbeing.
While more projects are underway, three have already been completed, and we’re proud to share their stories.
