Revitalizing Rutledge Park: A Community Grant Program Success Story
The District of Saanich is getting ready to celebrate the completion of the Rutledge Park revitalization project, a recent recipient of the TSBC Community Grant Program. Scheduled for a grand opening on June 24, Rutledge Park is set to become a dynamic centre for accessible recreation and community engagement.
A brand new, accessible playground at Rutledge Park (900 Scotia St, Victoria) will open, replacing the 21-year-old equipment. This will be accompanied by a splash pad, and a fully-equipped washroom/change room facility, all found on the park grounds. The playground’s design, featuring nature-inspired elements like boulders and logs, promises a truly immersive play experience. From a climbing structure to swings and even a thrilling zipline, there’s something for every park user. The addition of a splash pad ensures that all park users can join in the fun.

With a total of 1,407 car tires repurposed, Rutledge Park stands as a successful example of the impact of the TSBC Community Grant Program. With over 6.1 million dollars in grants awarded to date, the TSBC Community Grant Program provides financial support to communities that decide to use recycled tire products for their projects.
