Bicycle Tire Recycling

Bicycle Tire Recycling

In 2011, TSBC partnered with local cycling communities to launch a voluntary bicycle tire and tube recycling program. This initiative enables bike shops to collect used and unwanted bike tires and tubes, which are then integrated into the existing scrap car tire recycling program and transformed into innovative new products.

We’re one of the first programs in Canada to voluntarily recycle bicycle tires.

What Happens to Scrap Tires?

All collected tires in B.C. are processed in Delta by Liberty Tire. They are turned into crumb rubber for bowls and mats used in farms, playground surfaces, arenas, and gym flooring, and landscaping mulch.

We’re thrilled by the growing interest and support from bicycle retailers and cyclists across BC. If you have some Q’s read the PDFs below to get some A’s.

  • I’m a cyclist and I have questions.
  • I’m in. Where can I drop off my tires? – (Please note this list will be updated as changes occur. If you don’t see a location near you, call your local bicycle shop, they may be willing to recycle your tires but may be unaware of our program.)
