Events & Programs

At Tire Stewardship BC (TSBC), our mission is to create awareness, dispel misinformation, and educate communities in BC about the tire recycling program. We believe in empowering the next generation to become stewards of their environment. By combining in-school sessions, events, and school and community programs, we have successfully engaged directly with at least 750 students in 2024 across Metro Vancouver, Mission, and Prince George, spanning grades 2 through high school.

Furthermore, our TSBC community events, programs, and partnerships have embraced various formats, including booth setups, specialized workshops, and interactive activities. Consequently, these programs aim to address key learning outcomes, such as:

In addition to these informative sessions, we have incorporated engaging activities like trivia questions with prizes and TSBC-branded coloring sheets and crayons. This approach ensures a fun and memorable learning experience for students.

Moreover, our efforts have been strengthened through collaborations with esteemed institutions and programs, including the École Christine Morrison Elementary School, Vancouver Landfill School Day, Walter Moberly Elementary School, and UNBC Active Minds Programs. These partnerships have been instrumental in reaching a diverse group of students and making a meaningful impact on their understanding of environmental stewardship.

Beyond the Classroom: TSBC Community Events & Programs

Our commitment to education extends beyond the classroom. Our dedicated TSBC Ambassador Team has been traveling across the province, visiting community events to answer questions about the tire recycling program. This direct engagement allows us to connect with a wider audience and address their concerns and curiosities.

Additionally, our partnership with the ARTist Response Team brings a unique twist to ecological education. By incorporating music into school programs in the Lower Mainland, this initiative captures students’ attention and makes learning about tire recycling fun and engaging.

Ultimately, we are excited to be part of these TSBC community events, programs, and partnerships that foster environmental stewardship in young minds. By educating and inspiring the next generation, we are paving the way for a future where everyone plays a role in protecting and preserving our environment. At TSBC, we remain dedicated to our mission and look forward to continuing our work with schools, communities, and organizations across BC to promote tire recycling and environmental awareness.
